JELD-WEN Europe is a market-leading supplier of doors. Their full product range includes standard doors, high-quality exclusive doors, as well custom doors manufactured to the customer’s specifications. The goal was to achieve the factory’s growth objectives through improved leadership abilities of the management and synergistic activity of middle managers.
We carried out a development program for middle and senior managers for 24 managers in two groups (12 days). The topics included self-management and awareness of manager resources, personal efficiency and project management, effective cooperation and team management, and change management. Between each module, participants were obligated to test the given tools, and the final task of the program was to implement a change project of their own choice, for example reducing the percentage of scrapped products, process improvement or achieving the security of supply. The management that allocated the necessary resources was also involved in the evaluation of results. Therefore, the participants were highly motivated to participate in the program and to apply what they had learned, and senior managers took responsibility for the program’s objectives, which ensured the success.

- As a result of the project, the participants implemented 17 change projects in their production unit within 6 months, which created great resonance also at the group management level.
